Financial Support

16-19 Bursary Fund

What is the 16-19 Bursary Fund?

The fund is made available from the government through its funding body, the Young People’s Learning Agency (YPLA) for 16-18 year olds, to provide assistance to students whose access to, or completion of, education is inhibited by financial constraints or barriers. The bursary scheme has been put in place as a replacement for the Education Maintenance Allowance.

The fund is a fixed and finite sum and allocations may therefore not exceed the total sum available.

Plume Trust

What is the Plume Trust?

The Plume Education Trust seeks to provide financial awards to students to help meet some of the costs of study at University or College. The award is available for a maximum of three years to any student whose parental income does not exceed £45,000.

Any award made under the Trust is conditional on students being offered and accepting a place at University or College. Trustees have absolute discretion as to whether to make an award or not to any applicant.
